The Artist

Statement from artist Sandra Satz I have been painting for many years and have been asked numerous times, "Why don't you sell your work?". The answer was quite simple; I spend many hours on each and every piece I create and I couldn't bear the thought of parting with it when finally finished. Then I discovered the "Giclée" process, which allows me to keep my original and share my work with others at the same time. Fine art giclée also allow me to personalize each piece making it a one of a kind. You'll see many examples of our personalization throughout the website.

I now spend my days in my home studio, located in Lexington, Massachusetts, with music playing and creative juices flowing. It just doesn't get better than that!

Trompe L'Oeil is my favorite form of art. Trompe L'Oeil means to "trick the eye". I have a great appreciation for art that looks real, which you will find in most of my pieces. I use acrylic paint and will paint on anything short of a canvas. I like art you can use, not just hang on a wall, thus "art with a function". I enjoy painting things that have a personal interest to me. I have a passion for tennis, so painting a racquet is the next best thing to holding one. I love working in my perennial garden, thus flowers are always a favorite to paint. I have four beautiful grandchildren so you'll see several items that were not only painted for them but named after them!

As the company has grown, so has the number of artists we showcase. While most of the art is still created by me, we also have creations from six other artists as noted on their product pages.

Each piece of art is hand applied and finished by our team of artistic people. Because each piece is done by hand, the individual subtleties and imperfections make each one unique. Each piece is approved and signed by the artist

We are continually adding new designs to our collections, so thank you for viewing our products and be sure to visit often, you won't want to miss a thing!

Definitions

Giclée (zhee clay) – A term used for the process of making fine art prints using digital sourcing. A spinning roller carries the paper while infinitely small pixels of rich, vibrant archival pigments are sprayed on it at a very high speed. This renders an amazingly smooth and consistent image true to the original painting. Truly a superb quality, fine art reproduction.

Trompe L’Oeil (tromp loi) – The word means "trick the eye" in French and is a style of painting that gives an illusion of photographic reality or a painting or effect created in this style.

Artist Proof (A/P) – These are the first prints off of the run after everything has been approved and typically are done outside of the edition number.

S/N – Signed and Numbered. Each limited edition piece is hand signed and numbered by the artist.
